i have a buddy that works solely on vw vehicles. he has informed me that there are some common problems with brake lines in the transporter line (mine is a 1971). apparently it is somewhat common that type 3 brake lines end up on the transporters. they are smaller in diameter and thus crates mushy brake pedals, excessive heat, and/or locking up of the brakes. this coupled with old brake fluid (by nature the brake fluid attracts moisture thus breaking it down) causes some serious headaches! |
